Rubicon Project refreshes leadership with former Microsoft and Criteo talent

Rubicon Project has appointed a new chief revenue officer in the form of Harry Patz, previously of Microsoft, and head of global revenue operations Rob Diechert, previously of ad tech company Criteo to lead a newly-formed global revenue organisation.

This development fits with a company-wide reorganisation started in 2015, and saw international general manager Jay Stevens depart earlier this year. Rubicon Project claims it represents a step towards transforming the reams into a unified global sales organisation to support buyers and sellers of any form of advertising and platform in any market.

Patz, who has spent a significant amount of his sales, marketing revenue operations and business development career in the mobile space, joins the 15 year old company to develop and execute global cross-company integrated revenue program to support the overall business plans and strategic objectives.

“I am honoured to join Rubicon Project and could not be more pleased to be a part of this talented team as the company continues to break new ground and blaze a trail for the industry,” said Patz.

“Rubicon Project is at an extremely exciting time in the company’s history and I look forward to leveraging the already strong and established revenue generating teams as we work as one cohesive unit to continue to drive growth and profitability.”

Diechert’s background at Criteo Corporation as managing director of North American operations has given him relevant operational experience in the digital advertising space, helping the company expand in the space.

“I am incredibly proud and excited to join Rubicon Project and to work to scale its market leading team and platform more efficiently over the long term,” said Diechert.

“I look forward to building upon Rubicon Project’s unique position in the marketplace as we continue to grow, evolve and lead the industry. Our success will lead to better ad experiences for consumers, advertisers and publishers.”

Rubicon Project president Gregory Raifman said that managing for innovation and growth has been hallmarks of the company’s success during the past decade.

“Today’s announcements ensure that Rubicon Project will remain well positioned to continue to shape and define the future of advertising well into the next decade,” continued Raifman.

“I am thrilled to be welcoming two accomplished and well-respected leaders like Harry and Rob to the team as we continue to build upon the tremendous success our existing sales teams have delivered in market.”
