GroupM Connect’s specialist programmatic division The Exchange Lab has appointed AOL head of international revenue Penny Harris as senior vice president of international business development.
Harris, who also worked at Microsoft Advertising Global for 13 years, most recently as senior director of multinational sales, will employ her experience of leading multi-national teams responsible for cross-screen advertising solutions to develop client relationships and implement a revenue growth strategy in markets outside North America.
“I am excited to be joining The Exchange Lab at such an interesting time for the company,” said Harris. “The company’s Meta-DSP, Proteus is leading the field in terms of advancements and having been acquired by GroupM in December 2015, the solution provides brands with future-proofing capabilities.
“The Exchange Lab retains an active direct client business and I look forward to taking this to the next level.”
The Exchange Lab chief executive officer Chris Dobson said he was delighted to have Harris on board.
“She brings a great depth of knowledge and experience in digital and technology. Penny and I worked together at Microsoft in the mid-2000s, and I am extremely happy that she is joining us to lead our International direct revenue team,” he added.
WPP’s GroupM acquired The Exchange Lab and its proprietary programmatic marketing tech Proteus in December 2015, leading chief executive officer James Aitken to step down from his role.
