Dentsu Aegis Network is looking to bolster its content offering with the acquisition of UK-based agency John Brown Media.
The content agency, established in 1987, has over 200 employees across offices in London, South Africa, Hong Kong and Dubai. Its clients include UK retailer John Lewis, banking brand RBS and healthcare firm Bupa.
The John Brown Media brand will be retained, with chief executive Andrew Hirsch reporting to Dentsu Aegis Network UK and Ireland CEO Tracy De Groose.
Hirsch will also collaborate with iProspect’s global president Ben Wood to integrate John Brown Medias content publishing capabilities with the agency’s global solutions.
De Groose said the acquisition will add another dimension to Dentsu Aegis Networks offering: More clients are asking for content-led strategies and well now be able to develop more innovative, content-rich solutions for them, and also accelerate our growth in this space. We are excited to welcome the John Brown Media team to our business.
The digital communications market has seen some major shifts as the focus for communications strategy evolves from the world of bought media, to one where earned and owned media often play the lead strategic role, added Wood. The John Brown Media acquisition proves we are committed to a future that is driven by content, and brings us more depth in this space.
