Hawkins, who will take on additional responsibilities whilst retaining those associated with his prior role, will report to Dentsu and Dentsu media Asia Pacific chief executive Takaki Hibino and Dentsu Aegis Network Singapore head Rosalynn Tay.

“I am ready to scale new heights with our great pool of talent with the support and resources of the network, I believe we can produce truly innovative, award-winning work for our clients,” said Hawkins, who joined Dentsu in 2012 to launch the digital unit, which now lists Singapore Airlines and Disney Studios as clients.

“Acquiring Darwin continues our strategy of investing in faster growing segments and regions,” said Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific chief executive Nick Waters. “iProspect is the world’s leading performance media agency and this integration will provide greater scale in China enabling it to more rapidly capture the opportunities available.”

It follows news this week that the network has acquired Darwin Media in China, which it aims to combine with its iProspect agency in the region, broadening its digital offering.
