Over the past twenty years M&M has established itself as a central resource for the international media and marketing community providing knowledge, news and insight to its community of media buyers, planners, strategists, media owners and client marketers.

Over the course of those twenty years consumer media behaviour has undergone enormous change. Rapid technological development has affected how we consume media, where we consume it, how it is delivered and even what it looks like.

These massive changes have caused a parallel structural change within our own industry: forcing agencies to integrate separate channel specific planning and buying operations; forcing media owners to become multi-channel players and work more closely with advertising partners and causing clients to become more demanding of their agencies.

Throughout this time M&M has continued to support the international media industry in the guise of a monthly magazine, supplements, maps and guides and in later years, through a website.

Now it is our turn to change.

The M&M brand was acquired by C Squared Holdings at the end of June 2009 and an immediate 100 day root and branch review of the brand has taken place. Following this review it has become clear that in order to continue servicing the international media and marketing industry for the next 20 years we need to bring in the builders and do some major remodelling, which will result in a fresh, dynamic brand that places information services at its core – and which requires a new business model, which we will reveal in the coming months.

So what are we adding?

  • A restructured M&M brand online housed in a new website, creating a multimedia proposition that is in keeping with today’s media industry
  • A new suite of information rich data tools and resources, aimed at specific needs within the industry
  • A new level of thinking applied to the media industry, with content aimed at everyone inside the industry from planner to CEO
  • The ability to carry M&M services with you on your phone, ensuring you have the right content at your fingertips when you need it

What is staying the same?

  • The monthly M&M magazine will be refreshed and will return in 2010 with a new design and enriched content. We feel passionately that a printed monthly magazine dedicated to our industry is an important part of what the M&M brand should offer. Whilst publishing of the title is suspended we will be delivering the content you would expect from your monthly M&M fix (news / features / profiles) digitally, so you won’t miss out on anything.

  • Events. The M&M brand will continue to produce its coveted series of ‘Briefings’ covering the important issues within the industry

  • Maps & Guides. M&M will continue to provide its suite of information heavy wallcharts and guides, but will add interactive capabilities to each one
  • Newsletters. The weekly round-up of things you have to know about the international media industry will be redeveloped for 2010

How long will this take?

Having chartered the pressures that the media industry has undergone during its evolution over the past twenty years, we at C Squared know that you, our industry, understand these things take time. We are already pushing ahead with our plans and will over the course of the coming months reveal our new look to you in phases. Keep checking back here for more details.

What happens in the meantime?

During this period of evolution we will remain committed to bringing you the news, features, profiles, maps, guides, information, events and services that you have come to expect from M&M over the past twenty years. Subscribers to M&M will still receive the same level of information and it will continue to be delivered in a mix of digital and physical products.

Elements of our new look and new services will be revealed in stages, beginning with our newsletter, and culminating in a complete transformation of the brand including magazine, website, associated products and events next year.
