Smartclip becomes ad partner for LG Smart TV platform
12 July 2012
Multiscreen brand advertising platform Smartclip has struck a deal to sell ad inventory across LG Electronics’ Smart TV platform in Europe, Russia and Australia.
The deal will allow Smartclip to sell pre-roll ads, banner ads and interactive ad formats across the platform. The company will also be able to offer refined targeting opportunities through its ad-serving technologies.
The partnership covers a total of 14 markets. The first pan-European advertiser will be German fashion brand New Yorker.
"Europe is one of the world’s largest TV markets so it is great to be able to work together with one of the largest TV manufacturers worldwide on such an exciting product,” says Smartclip vice-president Shirlene Chandrapal. “Connected TV is beginning to really take off and LG Smart TV is the perfect way to reach consumers on all levels of engagement.”
Smartclip, part of the Adconion Media Group, currently delivers video ads across multiple connected devices including smartphones, tablets, games consoles and connected TVs. It has major operations in Europe, Australia, the US and Latin America.
“Content developers and content service providers will be able to focus on top quality content provision based on this tangible profit-making business model and advertisers will also have great opportunities utilising this effective marketing tool for global TV advertising campaigns,” says LG Electronics Smart Business Centre service business division vice-president Youn-jae Seo.
The LG Smart TV platform is accessible through all Smart TVs, Smart 3D Blu-ray players and the Smart TV Upgrader.
