The Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) Europe has appointed Nikki Mendonça, president of OMD EMEA, to its board.
Mendonça will work closely with the other members of the board, including Google, Microsoft and AppNexus, to promote IAB Europe, which now has a 5,500 strong membership base.
Mendonça has over twenty years experience in the advertising industry. As president of OMD EMEA, she is responsible for overseeing $19bn in marketing communications investment from blue-chip global brands such as Renault, PepsiCo, Liberty Global and Walt Disney.
This is indeed a pivotal year to be appointed to the IAB Europe Board. The European digital market has doubled in the last five years, growing 11.6% in the last year to 30.7bn, she said.
Defining practices and focusing on the business of standardisation and measurement across markets, the raison dêtre of IAB Europe, is going to be critically important to advertisers as we sprint towards new disruptive business models anchored in e-commerce and m-commerce.
Constantine Kamaras, chairman of the IAB Europe board of directors, said: [Mendonça] is a renowned digital leader across our continent and of course OMD is a key stakeholder in the rapid qualitative and quantitative development of our industry.
I am certain that OMDs contributions, highlighting further the views and perspectives of agencies and clients, will be highly beneficial to IAB Europe as we continue towards taking digital in Europe to the next level.
