Inclusivity and brands to dominate Festival of Media Global agenda

This year’s Festival of Media Global in Rome from 13-15 May is set to be the most inclusive and brand heavy yet.

The event will see the global media directors and marketing chiefs from advertisers including Mars; Deustche Telekom; Adidas; Lego; Danone; L’Oreal; Unilever; Seat; P&G; VW; Toyota; Shell and HSBC all speak, while the inugural Global Media Council  – being held on Monday 14 May at the event – will bring together a select group from this crowd for a peer to peer discussion based around three key issues that are affecting their day to day roles.

The agenda will also feature a visually impaired keynote to open the event, the worlds first human cyborg and a mindfullness yoga session. More than 50% of the speakers are female, 85% are from brands and the Festival of Media Awards jury is the most diverse yet, taking jugdes from all corners of the world.

“This year’s Festival of Media Global will see a new look event that has inclusivity and brands at its heart, provide education and inspiration for its delegates and create an immersive experience which rips up the tired and overused conference and awards formats,” says Jeremy King, CEO, Festival of Media.

Brands also get to meet suppliers of their choice for a number of one-to-one 30-40 meetings across both days as part of the FOM Connect initiative.

There will also be a number of activations, learning breakfasts, networking lunches and intimate dinners taking place across the two courtesy of the events’ partners that range from Teads and Spotify to P&G and Adobe.

This will be complemented by an innovative format, which will see an ‘inspiration’ stage looking like a cross between a U2 concert set and a catwalk, while the educational zones, Future and Innovation, Content and Culture, and Control will be rooms within zones and take delegates on an immersive and experiential journey.

This year’s Festival of Media Global Awards will also see the best of the world’s media and marketing campaigns celebrated. For the first time there will be three juries while new categories including the Brave Brand Award and the Inclusion Award represent how the awards are representing the industry and most importantly society.
