Mobile and internet developer Alcatel’s marketing team will work closely developing strategy with Initiative in Miami, planning campaigns across Central America, South America and the Caribbean.

André Felippa, vice president of marketing and product at Alcatel OneTouch Latin America, said: “We are proud to team up with IPG Mediabrands, a world-class company whose effective planning, media buying and optimization strategies can accelerate the growth of the brand Alcatel OneTouch, to become one of the leading mobile manufacturers in Latin America.”

This news follows yesterday’s announcement that Nick Childs has been appointed as Initiative’s global chief creative officer, reporting to global CEO Jim Elms. Childs will oversee ‘creative story-building’ and ‘trans-media content development’ for Initiative.

“We are thrilled to welcome [Childs] to the team. [His] exceptional talent and unique ability to craft stories that set brands apart will provide a huge boost to the agency, and will ensure we continue to succeed in taking clients into bold new territories,” said Elms.

Previously, Childs was executive creative director at FleishmanHillard and, before that, head of content development at Grey NY. He has also directed and produced Tribeca Film Festival Best Narrative Short ‘The Shovel’.

“I’m beyond excited to be joining the agency at this stage of their journey and point in my career,” said Childs. “In the past decade, we’ve seen the rise of integrated, strategically-driven creative ideas that stretch across all media, and Initiative has a huge opportunity to add to that growth.

“It’s also a chance to have fun and help a great, global team work with exceptional clients.”
