More than 5.5 million French internet users accessed Twitter in November 2012, marking a 53% rise in Twitter’s desktop audience, according to the latest figures from Comscore.
As a result, France is now the seventh largest market for Twitter.
The number of visitors aged 55+ saw a 100% year-on-year increase and accounted for the largest segment of the total Twitter audience during the month at 1.3 million users.
Those between the ages of 15-24 saw the next biggest increase of 62% year-on-year, amounting to 1.2 million users.
Twitter saw a 40% increase in internet users aged 45-54, while the 25-34 year old segment rose 39% and 35-44 year olds increased 27% year-on-year.
