In an exclusive chat with M&M Global in Cannes, Teeman explains how the perception of Bloomberg is far from what the company is actually doing.
“Our editorial approach has broadened from being simply a finance data company. Business is now everywhere and in everything, so as a result this our approach has changed to represent this,” says Teeman.
As a result it means that the firm has been bringing in a raft of new talent from not necessarily the most obvious places, including the hire of the former editor of Wired to be the editor of Bloomberg.com.
It is this approach that allows the company to balance its relationships with agencies and clients alike.
Other topics discussed included the globe’s emerging markets with particular focus on the Middle East, which Teeman thinks is a really exciting location and certainly a growth area for the next 12 months, and also how the key to a media owner surviving in today’s environment is understanding and adapting to the key trends and insights.
