MEC has emerged victorious as Pernod Ricard’s new media agency in Germany, following a competitive two-staged pitch.
The competitive pitch saw WPP’s MEC beat three other undisclosed participants in a two-stage pitch, taking the business, which represents 31 brands including Havana Club and Absolut, from incumbent agency Carat.
“We identified two main areas that we need our agency to master, for now and in the future: Innovation and digital,” said Pernod Ricard chief executive Christian Seel. “I believe that we with MEC have found the best partner to help us futureproof our business.”
MEC Germany chief executive officer Lars Kirschke added that the agency was very proud to be chosen, having put “equal amounts of hard work and passion in to this pitch”.
“We look forward to help secure Pernod Ricard future growth on the German market,” said Kirschke.
