MediaCom Indonesia CEO: ‘Retailers are changing their stock cycle to target youths’

Brands are becoming extremely savvy to meet the requirements of the Indonesian market, says CEO of Mediacom Indonesia Anita Mookerjee.

Talking to M&M Global at last week’s Festival of Media Asia Pacific 2015 alongside Facebook Indonesia’s country head Anand Tilak, Mookerjee discussed what brands need to do to break into the Indonesian marketplace.

Talking about Indonesia’s large youth demographic, Mookerjee said: “Retailers are changing their stock cycle – things are not going to be on the shelf for long because youth like change.”

Tilak added: “Younger people are always harder to reach for any brand because their media habits are very different. They don’t watch TV as much as the older demographic, their digital engagement is very high.

“That’s where brands can actually use an integrated media plan where it is linked with both offline and online – that will product far better results than if you were to depend on one medium alone,” he said.
