MediaCom has been named Agency Network of the Year at the Festival of Media Global Awards 2017, with Touché! PHD scooping the Agency of the Year prize.
The winners of this year’s awards were unveiled at a ceremony in Rome’s glitzy Cavalieri hotel, hosted by comedy rapper compere Chris Turner.
GroupM picked up the inaugural Media Group of the Year award, with Campaign of the Year going to ‘Missing Type’ by MediaCom UK. The Independent Agency of the Year prize was handed to Mediaplus, after it went home with gold for its ‘WhatsGerman’ and ‘The Fashion Mag Hijack’ campaigns.
Omnicom Media Group’s OMD matched MediaCom’s overall haul of six gold awards, with its ‘End of Silence’ and ‘Capacity Mac Delivery’ campaigns highly rates by the judges.
Winning campaigns also went to agencies from New Zealand, Mexico, Israel, Costa Rica, Norway, Singapore, South Africa and the Dominican Republic.
Two jury panels were co-chaired by Sarah Mansfield, vice president, global media, Europe and Americas, at Unilever and Gerry D’Angelo, global media director at Procter & Gamble.
Mansfield commented: “It’s an honour to be the co-chair of this year’s Festival of Media Global Awards. The work has been very inspiring and of a high standard.”
