Microsoft launches AI tool to carry out project management tasks

Microsoft has released a beta version of a software tool that brings artificial intelligence to agency management tasks.

Microsoft 670

The software giant has launched the AXAD Agency beta in collaboration with its development partner Anegis Consulting in order to help agencies with tasks such as hiring and keeping talent, efficient resourcing and handling complex revenue models.

Anegis claims it will “enable agencies to evolve from simple descriptive analytics to pre-emptive actionable recommendations”.

It uses Anegis Consulting’s Azure Machine Learning artificial intelligence tool, which builds models based on agencies’ past and current projects to predict problems with project resourcing, budgeting or deadlines.

For instance, the technology will be able to recognise when a deadline could be missed and automatically contact a freelancer and book them in to make sure the project hits the deadline.

It does all this using natural language through Microsoft’s Cortana Intelligence Suite proposition.

Anegis chief executive Michal Tekiela said: “We’ve been working with some of the world’s largest marketing services groups for over two years to engineer processes specific to the way they work.

“A business management system is not a one-size-fits-all solution, so AXAD is designed to enable an agency to evolve while preserving and enhancing its core DNA.”

The technology has already gone live with Experian Marketing and a spokesman added two major ad agency groups are preparing to roll it out.
