M&M Global Awards 2015: Meet the judges

With the deadline to enter the M&M Global Awards fast approaching, here’’s a snapshot of this year’s judging panel.

This year’s awards promise to be the biggest and best yet, with a host of new categories and a gala ceremony to take place at Grosvenor House on London’s Park Lane on Thursday 3 September.

Andrew Cocker, senior marketing director, Expedia EMEA


As senior marketing director of Expedia EMEA, Andrew Cocker is responsible for leading the brand marketing, research, insights and PR functions, ensuring a cohesive brand experience across all aspects of its service. Cocker possesses over 17 years of travel and marketing experience from a career spanning a broad range of sectors within the marketing industry. He has held positions at McDonald’s, Leo Burnett, Freeserve, and Yahoo.

Annabel Venner, global brand director, Hiscox


Annabel Venner is the global brand director at Hiscox. She is responsible for driving the effectiveness of marketing across the Hiscox and DirectAsia Group, specifically in key markets of UK, US, Europe and Asia. Her key responsibilities include running and sustaining the ‘Hiscox Marketing Excellence’ programme, owning the Hiscox and DirectAsia brand architectures and ensuring its local activation, as well as providing technical support, guidance and best practice to all markets. Annabel joined Hiscox in January 2009. Before this, she worked at Coca-Cola.

Caty Burgess, vice president of media strategies, The CW


Caty Burgess is the vice president of Media Strategies at The CW. From a past career in documentary and reality content creation, she joined the network at its inception in 2006 and has since been a key player in the launch of a number of hit TV series including ‘Gossip Girl’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, and ‘Jane The Virgin’.

Jonathan Milne, general manager, EMEA and APAC, Celtra


Jonathan Milne is general manager for EMEA and APAC at Celtra. Milne is a well-known industry expert on mobile advertising and cross-screen marketing and has around 20 years’ experience in the digital media industry. Prior to Celtra, he held senior positions at a number of internet and digital media tech companies including NetGenesis, Maven Networks and Ooyala.

Sarah Mansfield, VP global media, Europe and Americas, Unilever


Sarah Mansfield started at Unilever in June 2012. She is now responsible for the European, North and LatAm Media Function, and a total media spend of over €1bn. Mansfield has extensive media, communications and digital marketing experience across a number of industry sectors. Previously, she led marketing services for Unilever’s UK & Ireland business covering media and communications planning and implementation, digital best practice and brand PR. Prior to Unilever she held the position of global head of communications and media at Barclaycard.

Sonia Le Louarn, chief strategy officer, Mindshare Latin America


Sonia Le Louarn is Mindshare’s Latin America chief strategy officer, responsible for the agency’s entire strategic product across the region. Her primary function is the development and implementation of agency products and services that help Mindshare’s clients to get a jump on their competitors. Le Louarn has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning and communications development across Europe and Latin America, in both agency and client-side roles. She joined Mindshare in 2006 and has worked with some of the agency’s largest clients including Nestlé, Diageo, HSBC, KC, Motorola and L’Oréal.

Taide Guajardo, marketing director, Europe, Procter & Gamble


Taide Guajardo is marketing director for Procter & Gamble (P&G) Europe. She is in charge of the Brand Operations organisation, P&G’s marketing planning/execution team that manages the touchpoints in the markets – media, digital, in store, CRM, PR. Throughout her career spanning over 25 years, Guajardo has served in a variety of positions in P&G – from traditional brand management, to shopper marketing, media and brand operations. A native Mexican and mother of two, she has worked in Mexico, Poland, Italy and Switzerland.

Chris Stephenson, head of strategy, PHD APAC


Chris Stephenson is head of strategy and planning for PHD APAC. He took up the newly created position in March and is responsible for growing the agency’s global communications panning unit, based out of Singapore. Prior to this, Stephenson held the role of head of strategy at PHD Australia.

Courtney Ackerman, VP communications planning, Empower MediaMarketing


Courtney Ackerman is the vice president of communications planning at Empower MediaMarketing. She has been with the company for over a decade and works side by side with the company’s communications and broadcast planning groups building holistic plans based in actionable consumer insights that can connect and reach client objectives for each campaign.

Fabien Petit, global head of media and digital, L’Oreal


Fabien Petit is the global head of media and digital at L’Oreal. He has over 20 years of global, regional and local communications advertiser and agency experience and a proven track record in strategic communications planning and buying, business planning, talent and people management, operations and business development. He has previously held key roles at Accenture, Carat and luxury brand Cartier.

Fatima Shaikh, head of content, activations and social media, MEC MENA

Fatima Shaikh is the head of content, activations and social media for MEC MENA and is responsible for delivering strategic development, conceptualising and generating ideas, integrations, promotions and other activations for the agency’s clients across a range of disciplines including sports, broadcast, art, music, film, cause, brand partnerships, celebrity and gaming. Prior to MEC, Shaikh worked with Channel 4 Radio Network for five and a half years.

Graeme Douglas, group chief strategy officer, Havas/HMG


Graeme Douglas is the chief strategy officer at Havas Media Group (HMG), across Arena, Havas Media and Forward. He is responsible for bringing media, creative, digital, UX and CX together to create communication solutions for the agency’s clients. Douglas works with a diverse range of brands including O2, Nationwide, Royal Mail and EA Sports. Prior to Havas, Douglas was creative director, head of digital and planning director at Wieden + Kennedy London.

Koen Smeets, global strategy director, Starcom MediaVest Group


Koen Smeets is the global strategy director for Starcom MediaVest Group. He works with major clients including Novartis, ASICS, and Airbnb and also does the business and strategic projects for others. Smeets has over 15 years’ experience working on global communication strategies across all channels. Prior to his role at Starcom, Smeets held major roles at both Carat and UM.
