Vergne joins from her position of sales director for Economist Brands at The Economist Group. She will lead Euronews sales teams in Paris, London, Berlin and Dubai offices, with oversight across EMEA and Latin America, following a series of distribution deals to extend its coverage in the latter region.

Reporting to chief revenue officer Carolyn Gibson, Vergne will be responsible for increasing Euronews and Africanews’ market share and “accelerating [its] long-term sustainable revenue growth”.

Vergne first joined The Economist Group in 1992, having started her career as a media strategist and buyer at Publicis-Optimedia.

“As we embark on our exciting new strategic plan for Euronews, the only truly ‘glocal’ broadcast news service delivering ‘all views’ across multiple platforms to the largest audience in continental Europe of any international news organisation, we are simultaneously overhauling the commercial business model as we develop our capabilities and solutions for marketers seeking a meaningful dialogue with our audiences,” said Gibson.

“With her proven track record and her deep understanding of customer needs, Myriam will be a key element in the delivery of this transformation. Her leadership and entrepreneurial flair make her a great person to lead the EMEA sales team in this exciting new phase of our development.”

Vergne added: “I am impressed by the new development strategy of the Euronews Group and specifically its new editorial proposition. I am pleased to take part in this incredible transformation, to develop exciting and creative marketing solutions for our customers and position Euronews as a strategic, trusted and key partner for those brands.”
