Hi-Media hires UK commercial director

European online ad exchange Hi-Media is expanding its UK operations with the appointment of Dan Ginns as its new commercial director.
Ginns joins from Adconion where he was global sales director. Before that he spent four years at Microsoft Advertising, three years at Rivals Digital Media and was a sales manager at Emap Advertising. His career began in 1994 at Zenith Media Buying Services.
At Hi-Media, Ginns will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the business including agency sales, working with agency trading desks, managing and growing publisher relationships, advertising operations and product strategy. He will report to Hi-Media UK managing director Mathieu Roche.
“Dan brings us the technical experience of working for an ad network, with branding and rich media capabilities, combined with an understanding of the publisher point of view,” says Roche. “This makes him well-placed to understand all aspects of the business and direct our commercial operations to ensure we continue to deliver for publishers and agencies alike.”
The appointment comes at the same time as the promotion of Kate LeMesurier to Hi-Media UK head of sales. She will oversee all agency and advertiser relationships and manage the sales team, reporting into Ginns.
Hi-Media UK is a joint venture launched by Hi-Media Group and Weborama in December 2011.
