Bloomberg builds momentum in mobile space

Bloomberg Businessweek is increasing its presence in the mobile space through the launch of its Bloomberg Businessweek+ app on iPhone and iPod Touch.

The Bloomberg Businessweek+ app features exclusive video and audio content, as well as live market info and news, a personal archive, search and social sharing capabilities.

Readers can subscribe to the app for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year. Print and iPad-only subscribers will get free access to the app on their iPhone or iPod Touch.

The move comes following the success of the Bloomberg Businessweek+ app for iPad, which launched in April last year and has surpassed the 100,000 subscribers benchmark.

“Many of our readers own an iPhone so delivering an optimal experience and lightning fast downloads of magazine issues is critical,” says Bloomberg global head of mobile and general manager Oke Okaro. “With the app, it takes three minutes or less on a 3G connection to download an entire issue to the iPhone or iPad.”

The Bloomberg Businessweek+ app is one of three new apps launched by Bloomberg in the last year, in addition to Bloomberg Radio+ and Bloomberg TV+.
