IPC Media launching 30 digital editions
IPC Media is expanding its global presence with the 30 of its magazine brands getting an international Apple Newsstand release.

Over the next two weeks, 14 of the publisher’s brands will be available internationally on the Apple digital magazine distribution service. The titles being launched include Cycling Weekly, NME,  Uncut, Wallpaper*, What Digital Camera and World Soccer.

An additional 16 titles are planned for launch before the end of August 2012.

“This is a significant leap forward for IPC in the digital publishing arena. We have seen strong UK demand for our digital editions on Apple’s Newsstand, in particular for our market-leading specialist titles and Wallpaper*,” says IPC Media chief executive Sylvia Auton.

In April, Next Issue Media, a company formed of five major US publishers, launched a competitor to the Apple Newsstand with its own digital magazine sales platform. One of the founder publishers of Next Issue Media is IPC Media’s parent company Time Inc.
