McCann creates new regional leadership role

McCann creates new regional leadership role

McCann Worldgroup (MWG) Latin America president Luca Lindner has taken on the expanded role of MWG Americas president, adding responsibility for North America to his remit.

Currently based in Brazil, Lindner has been responsible for MWG’s operations in Latin America, as well as the Middle East and Africa.

In his expanded role, he will continue to partner with MWG Europe president Gustavo Martinez in leading McCann’s global brand community, but his MENA responsibilities will transition to Martinez and MWG Europe chief financial officer Stefan Himpe.

The creation of the new regional leadership role comes as part of the network’s recognition of the increasingly multinational nature of integrated and digital marketing communications in the US and the opportunity for greater talent mobility across the regions.

Lindner was named regional director for McCann Latin America/Caribbean in 2005. Prior to that, he was vice-chairman of Leo Burnett EMEA and president of Burnett’s Fiat coordination centre. He also spent four years as chief executive of the Conquest & Red Cell Network in Europe. His agency career began at TBWA in Paris and Italy.

“Luca’s proven ability to navigate the complexities of our large multinational clients to drive vital collaboration between our McCann Worldgroup companies fits precisely the remit for his expanded role,” says McCann Worldgroup president and chief executive Nick Brien.
