CCA expands airport app for Thanksgiving
23 November 2011
Clear Channel Airports (CCA) has expanded its Flysmart app in anticipation of the busy travel season across the US as Thanksgiving weekend approaches.
The app was co-developed with tech start-up Geodelic and launched in August in 2010. Available on Apple and Android devices it expands across 34 participating US airports and it maps out terminals and displays where facilities such as ATMs, gift shops and restaurants are based. Additionally, users can access data feeds for arrivals and departures as well as hotels and surrounding areas outside of the airport.
The app also contains an art feature which showcases public airport art. Philadelphia International Airport is the first to sign up to the campaign showcasing the ‘Tuskgee Airmen: 70 Years of Aviation History’ exhibition.
“Flysmart was developed to navigate the travel experience with ease – especially during the hustle and bustle of the holidays,” said CCA president Toby Sturek. “Not only does Flysmart put the most essential airport information right at user’s fingertips, the app has also become a gateway to local culture with the introduction of our latest Art Exhibition feature."
