SMG promotes Antoniades as MENA CEO

Starcom MediaVest Group has promoted John Antoniades as its Middle East and North Africa chief executive.
Antoniades moves from his position as director of EMEA multi-national client operations where he led the consolidation of Honda’s EMEA business and headed its regional account operations. He also already sits on the London board, SMG’s global management group and is a member of the network’s global product committee.
In the new role he will be based in Dubai and will report to SMG president of emerging markets Matt Blackborn and Vivaki MENA chairman Alex Saber.
Antoniades joined MediaVest, at the time known as Mediacentre UK, in 1995 as a media planner. His first leadership position with the group was as managing director of MediaVest Italy in 2003.
“MENA is one of the fastest growing markets in the world and is critical to SMG and our clients’ success,” says Antoniades.
