OMD has won the media strategy and activation business for ‘smart alarms’ home security systems supplier Verisure Securitas Direct Group (VSDG), following a competitive pitch.
The Omnicom Media Group agency won a final shoot-out against Publicis Media’s Starcom to handle the Sweden-based company’s media in Europe and Latin America.
Priority markets include Spain, Sweden, Norway and France, as well as a further 11 territories in LatAm.
VSDG boasts 1.8 million customers in 14 countries for its home alarms products. The firm is looking to push into the connected home space, using Internet of Things technology to allow customers to monitor their properties at all times.
Nikki Mendonca, president of OMD EMEA, said: “We are very much looking forward to working with Verisure Securitas Direct Group across Europe and LatAm. Consumer security is an important product where VSDG holds not only a strong and credible heritage, but also a very strong global footprint.
“We are delighted to have been selected as their marketing communications partner to help scale their business and make security a priority in consumers’ lifestyle. This partnership will better prepare us for the ‘smart home’ revolution which is gathering pace across Europe.”
Erwin Wieffering, VSDG’s chief marketing officer, said: “As the European leader in monitored home security, Verisure is very excited to partner with OMD to reach more families and small business owners effectively in the rapidly changing media landscape.
“Verisure sees working with OMD as a logical step that reflects our determination to reach more customers with our industry leading suite of intelligent professional monitored services for home security, combined with interactive services and convenience.
