P&G names Kristine Decker new North America media chief

Procter & Gamble (P&G) has named Kristine Decker as brand director North America brand operations to oversee its estimated $3bn-plus US media outlay.

Decker was previously brand director-North America Pet Care, but has been moving into the media role under Jodi Allen, former vice president North America brand operations, according to Ad Age.

Allen has overseen North American media since P&G’s media exec Julie Eddleman left for Google last year. She also become vice president North American Hair Care late last year and was handling both jobs for a time.

Decker was a marketing executive on P&G’s Walmart team where she oversaw the company’s “Family Movie Night” collaboration, where P&G joined the retailer for movie commercials that ran on NBC.

P&G has long held the title of the biggest US advertising spender with nearly $5bn in overall spending in 2013, according to the Ad Age Datacenter. The retailer had $2bn in measured media spending during the first nine months of 2014, down 16% from the same period a year ago, according to Kantar Media.
