Professional rock-climber Kevin Jorgeson, who recently completed a free climb of the Dawn Wall, is to speak at the Festival of Media Global, offering an inspirational insight into pushing yourself to the limits, and how the media has helped him in his recent conquest.

In December last year, Jorgeson set off with his climbing partner Tommy Caldwell to ascend the rock-face on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park after spending six years planning the route together, which as been described as “the hardest route ever climbed.”

Some 19 days later, on 14 January 2015, the pair stood on top of El Capitan making them the first two climbers to successfully complete a free climb of the Dawn Wall.

Jorgeson will discuss how he inspired himself to keep going and achieve this life-changing accomplishment, and how the media helped him to complete his challenge.

The Festival of Media Global 2015 will take place at the Waldorf Astoria Rome Cavalieri from 10 to 12 May, with the event exploring how media is impacting on consumers’ lives and driving global business.

Jorgeson will join an impressive speaker line-up including Huffington Post chief executive Jimmy Maymann, Stephen Allan, global CEO, MediaCom, Doug Ray, global president, Carat and Mike Cooper, global CEO PHD.
