SpotXchange bets on ‘explosive’ Asia growth with Singapore launch

SpotXchange has opened a new office in Singapore, to help support what it says has been a phase of “explosive growth” across Asia.

The office, on Cecil Street in Singapore’s central business district, will form a key part of the video ad platform’s attempts to match the growth in programmatic buying in the region.

SpotXchange claims it enjoyed 120% quarter-on-quarter growth in Singapore in the three months from October to December 2014, as the industry embraces video advertising.

In China, that figure reaches 711% quarter-on-quarter, while in Hong Kong SpotXchange has seen revenues rise by 72% on the previous three months.

SpotXchange APAC managing director, Matt Von der Muhll, said the company was growing faster in the region than it was in North American or Europe.

“Asia had an incredible year last year, and is set for an even bigger 2015. By the end of the year we expect the Asian market to make up 30% of our APAC revenues, up from 2% in just two short years,” said Von der Muhll.

Sujen Selva, commercial director for Asia, added: “The opening of a local office will enable SpotXchange to build stronger relationships with the regions publishers and broadcasters, opening up even more video inventory to meet the strong demand from advertisers.”
