Chao, whose role is effective immediately, started her career at Hachette Filipacchi Media working on the Taiwan licensing business operations for ELLE. She went on to oversee marketing, CRM and media for the Timberland brand in APAC as regional marketing director at VF Corporation.

She will report to Randhawa and GroupM Taiwan chief executive officer AP Lin.

“Taiwan is leading the region in terms of the adoption of social media, gaming, and new media behaviours,” said Lin. “This creates incredible new opportunities for all of our GroupM agency clients – but also requires fresh perspectives from both inside and outside our industry.

“With her client-side marketing experience and digital expertise, Susan is well positioned to help Mindshare’s clients navigate these new challenges. It’s a pleasure to have her as part of our team.”

Randhawa added that she is really looking forward to working with Chao on client business.

“Taiwan is the birthplace of Mindshare,” said Randhawa. “It is fantastic, as we step into our twentieth year as a company, that we have dynamic new leadership in this market to take us to the next level.”

This announcement comes shortly after the appointment of Maneesheel Gautam as Mindshare’s digital leader for the South East Asia region.
