Touché!PHD dominates the inaugural Festival of Media North American Awards, while APAC campaigns named the best on the planet in ‘Best of 2017’
Hosted at Metropolitan West in New York the winners for the inaugural Festival of Media North American Awards were revealed this evening at the ‘Night Circus’ themed awards show.
Chaired by Rob Rakowitz, Director of Global Media for Mars the jury were keen to ensure the winners really were the best in class in North American media campaigns.
Canada had an amazing evening as two of its agencies Touché!PHD and OMD Canada scooped three wins each, which was a total matched by UM US.
Touché!PHD also took home the prestigious Campaign of the Year Grand Prix for its work on “Bully Ads” and Agency of the Year, while other wins from OMD, PHD and Hearts & Science helped its parent company Omnicom Media Group win Media Group of the Year.
To make it a clean sweep of the Grand Prix awards, PHD Worldwide won an extremely close contest with UM to be crowned Agency Network of the Year.
And just as close was the regional battle between the US and Canada as the former just edged its neighbour with 13 trophies compared to the latter’s nine.
The night also played host to the Festival of Media’s ‘Best of 2017’ which saw the winners from the Festival’s global iterations compete to see what campaigns were the best on the planet over the last 12 months.
These awards were Judged by a dedicated jury chaired by Nadine McHugh, SVP, Omni Media Strategic Investments and Creative Solutions, L’Oréal and they gave four of the five trophies to campaigns from the APAC region.
The Festival of Media North America Awards is dedicated to the evolution of media, celebrating the best in media thinking and communications across the region. Judged by an innovative, respected and diverse panel regional brand marketers and industry experts, the programme is a prestigious event rewarding the very best work.
