Undertone appoints ESPN’s Rob Garber to run its EMEA operations

Undertone has announced the appointment of Rob Garber as its managing director for the EMEA region.

Garber joins Undertone, which specialises in cross-screen digital ad solutions, from his previous post as head of digital sales at ESPN. He has also held senior roles at LinkedIn and Reuters.

Based at the company’s EMEA headquarters in London, Garber will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations throughout the region. He will report to Undertone’s chief revenue officer Greg Glenday.

In October, Undertone’s executive director EMEA Cameron Hulett left the company to join Internet of Things technology provider EVRYTHNG.

“I’m really excited to have [Garber] join our team,” said Glenday. “He has extensive knowledge of the UK and international market and a strong background in digital advertising.

“We have had tremendous growth in the EMEA region over the past four years, and I’m looking forward to seeing this continue under [his] leadership.”

Garber added: “Undertone has a great reputation in the market. With the company’s investment into new technology and its terrific talent, we are well positioned to give brands exciting opportunities with top-notch customer service. I’m excited to be working with the team in Europe, and across the globe, to further drive international growth.”

Earlier this year, Undertone acquired Buenos Aires-based Sparkflow, an all-in-one platform for multi-screen rich media advertising.

Sparkflow, which was founded in 2013, offered Undertone the ability to “bring sophisticated, ground-breaking advertising formats to market even faster”, according to CEO Corey Ferengul.
