Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has announced the appointment of Pete Flamman as its new senior vice president of brands for Northern Europe.

Flamman, who joins from Turner Broadcasting, will be responsible for strategy and development of all VIMN’s brands across the region, including MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and the Paramount Channel.

From September he will be based in Amsterdam, reporting to Magnus Kastner, executive vice president and managing director of VIMN Northern Europe.

The move ends Flamman’s 14-year stint at Turner, latterly as senior vice president and chief operating officer for the EMEA region.

Kastner said: “As a true brand specialist with a strong business development background [Flamman] is well-suited to assume this role. Looking at his great track record and outstanding achievements, I am looking forward to working with him and developing our valuable brands further in a multiplatform media environment.”

Flamman himself added: “VIMN has a fantastic portfolio of brands and great original content – the key elements for success in traditional and new media. I know the Northern European markets well and I can’t wait to get started in this exciting role.”
