Amsterdam-based international telecoms company VimpelCom has appointed Dentsu Aegis and Starcom Mediavest Group to manage its global media planning, management and buying.

 

Prior to this decision, media planning and buying was managed on a local level by individual operating companies with a number of different agencies.

The hand-over will happen on 1 January 2016, affecting media dealings with Beeline, Wind, Kyivstar, Banglalink and Mobilink in Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Kyrgzstan, Tajikistan, Armenia and Georgia.

“VimpelCom embarked on a transformation program earlier this year, which aims to significantly improve our operational efficiencies, reduce our cost base and reinvent ourselves as a truly digital business,” said VimpelCom chief communications and brand officer Rozzyn Boy.

“As part of this strategy, we are globalising a number of our supplier relationships and optimising our position as a customer-centric international organisation, driven by innovation and digital models.
