AOL launches ONE by AOL: Publishers platform

AOL yesterday (25 January) launched its publisher suite, ONE by AOL: Publishers, at the Interactive Advertising Bureau’s Annual Leadership Meeting.

AOL said the launch comes following six years and more than $1bn investment in publisher-first technology. ONE by AOL: Publishers aims to assist publishers with audience engagement and analytics, as well as content distribution and revenue management.

“Publishers face many obstacles and challenges in navigating the complexities of today’s media environment, and the walled garden technology solutions available to them today is underservicing their needs to capitalise on the consumer shift to mobile and video,” said AOL president of publisher platforms Tim Mahlman.

“With ONE by AOL: Publishers, AOL is drawing on world-class, publisher-minded teams and technology solutions to redefine monetisation and empower publishers to capture the maximum value of their content.”

Features include tight links with the ONE by AOL buying platform to make the process of selling advertising more seamless, reducing the number of platforms and partners required. The suite also uses AOL’s tools to increase understanding of assets, simplify monetising in-app mobile and scale video opportunities.

The roll-out includes video solution Vidible and Be On tech to allow publishers and editors access to video management and curation tools for increasing cross-platform video distribution.

AOL has also consolidated its brand portfolio, moving to a unified service agreement allowing for more synergy. The suite can be bought as separate modular products or in various combinations.
