IPG Mediabrands has appointed Mindshare’s Christian Scholz to the role of chief executive of Initiative Germany.
Scholz will be tasked with working alongside Initiative Germany chief operating officer Mathias Glatter to ensure the “strategic and dynamic development” of the agency, as well as the expansion of its digital business.
He will also become a member of the European Initiative Board and Global Council.
Scholz joins from his post as CEO of Mindshare Germany, a position he has held since 2013. He will relocate from Frankfurt to Hamburg as part of the move. Prior to joining Mindshare, he held senior roles at Kinetic Worldwide and Aegis Media.
“We are very pleased that [Scholz] has decided to join IPG Mediabrands as CEO of Initiative. Not least because of his excellent digital expertise, our national and international management is convinced that Christian is the perfect person to assume this position,” said Michael Dunke, chief executive of IPG Mediabrands DACH.
“His broad experience as a client at Ferrero and also with MEC, Dentsu Aegis, OOH specialist Kinetic and Mindshare and his deep understanding of the business will provide new momentum within the agency and expand the further digital transformation.”
