1 – Summarise yourself in three words.

“Resilient, adaptable, positive.”

2 – What made you want to pursue a career in media and marketing?

“When the crushing realisation hit at eight years old that I was already past it and at no point talented enough to be a professional tennis player I had to re-think my life choices! I started my career in publishing, selling foreign rights at Virgin Books. I then found myself in a digital start up and I haven’t looked back. I can’t think of another industry so fast paced, interesting, sociable and fun. No two days are the same.”

3 – Describe your ideal client.

“One who really works with us and views us more as a partner and not just a supplier. Everybody gets so much more out of these kinds of relationships and it is easier to take risks and break new ground together.”

4 – Name your favourite ever campaign.

“‘This girl can – Sport England.’ I feel inspired every time I watch the video. It’s a wonderful and successful initiative to get women to do more sport, regardless of their shape, size and ability. ‘Sweating like a pig, feeling like a fox’ – great slogan!”

5 – Which award win are you most proud of, and why?

“I’m new to InSkin, so watch this space!”

6 – Who is the best industry speaker you have seen?

“Pete Cashmore, founder of Mashable. He’s the absolute don of emerging trends and what’s to come. Not to mention a shining example of home-grown talent and an inspiration to everyone about what is possible in life.”

7 – Which is your favourite social media platform, and why?

“At the moment it’s Lifecake – somewhere I can spam photos of my children without the risk of all my friends unfollowing me on Facebook. Also saves the ‘can you send me that photo’ conversation, and acts as a digital alternative to a baby book.”

8 – Where is your ideal meeting venue?

“Breakfast with a view… so The Shard is the top spot at the moment, or on the squash court.”

“There is so much out there that just baffles and I think acts as a comfort blanket to the person speaking”

9 – What is your favourite restaurant?

“Chez Bruce is full of family memories and always the ‘go to’ for an occasion. Pre drink in pub next door, long lunch and then a walk on the common afterwards.”

10 – What is hot in international media and marketing, and what is not?

“Here’s an industry buzzword people might want to ban that I’m about to use – ‘agile marketing’. But in the case of International media planning, were the lead time is long and there are an abundance of stakeholders, this marketing approach could deliver better results and faster.”

11 – Which industry buzzword would you ban?

“There is so much out there that just baffles and I think acts as a comfort blanket to the person speaking. ‘Cultivate’ is one I heard recently that would get the chop.”

12 – Where do you see yourself in 10 years’ time?

“With a bit of luck healthy, happy and still making the most of life.”

13 – Finally, who would play you in a movie of your life?

“Kristen Wiig – for no other reason than I want to hang out with her.”
